Vicki Grant (not exactly as shown)

Vicki Grant is a perfectly good name. I can understand why my parents chose it for me. Both my grandmothers were called Victoria.

But why would anyone name a superhero Vicki Grant? Sounds kind of boring to me. I mean, if your town is suddenly beset by evil Masterminds, who you gonna call?

Vicki?

My guess is you’d end up with a middle-aged woman on your door step – or a poodle. (For some reason, there were a lot of poodles named Vicki when I was growing up.)

Apparently, the writers of Dial H for Hero have a different take on the name. They made Vicki Grant the girl the good folks of Fairfax turn to when they need help. I just hope they don’t expect her to do anything too agile in that costume…
