I'll see if I can get a clip up on line. I only have it on VHS, believe it or not, so I'll have to do some fiddling first. Cheers! V

Hi, Rebecca -

I used to be a television writer. I was very busy with deadlines and travel and decided I needed a break. I had a chance conversation with an old friend and found out she'd written a young adult novel and, on a whim, I decided to give it a go too. I took five months off from scriptwriting and wrote "The Puppet Wrangler". I liked doing it so much I never went back to television. I'm now working on my tenth novel.

As for Nine Doors, it wasn't so much inspiration as concentration. I knew that Orca was looking for another book for their Currrents series so I sat down at my computer and started working on ideas. I asked myself what are some of the things kids do at that age. I thought of Nicky-nicky-nine-doors. It seemed like a good place to start. Then my job was just coming up with a good story to build around it. Hope that answers your questions.
