Comeback

Comeback, High/Low YA novel by Vicki Grant

A High-Low Thriller for Teens

A Tri-State 2011 Book of Note (Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey)

A “fast-paced suspense story for hi-lo reluctant readers. Grant expertly captures teenage nuances of speech and behaviour (“OMG. Did you hear about Ria’s dad?”). Comeback will appeal to female young adult readers with its portrayal of catty friendships and the charmed love of first romantic relationships…the less-than-happy ending is a refreshing and realistic change from the many young adult books with idealistic finales.” Recommended. Canadian Materials Magazine

“Grant’s novel folds drama and suspense into a story that carries echoes of our country’s current financial woes…it’s premise will quickly grab readers, who will empathize with Ria’s disillusionment and split-second, bad decision making.” Booklist

“Reluctant and struggling readers will be satisfied by the compelling story.” School Library Journal

Author Vicki Grant takes readers on a frightening ride in COMEBACK.  She captures the disappointment and frustration Ria feels when the life she’s always known takes a dramatic turn.  This fast-paced read is perfect for reluctant readers. Readingjunky

I have to make this book trailer for school, and i decided i wanted to do “Comeback”. Do you have any ideas on how i can make it really good?

I’m excited you’re going to do a book trailer for Comeback, Daisy! My suggestion would be to make it mysterious. You don’t want to give too much away – especially about the ending.

I love this book very much! i love how that at the end the dad turns out to be a crinimal! and suffer the time owned in jail to go get his kids out of the camp ground!

ps gienus i trying to read all your books what one should i read next?

    love meg

    • vickigrant says:

Thanks, Meg! If you liked Comeback, Dead-End Job might be a good choice to read next. It’s about a teenaged girl in a scary situation too. (And, by the way, it’s dedicated to another Meg – my late mother-in-law.
